WHAT IT IS

Proceedix digitises the paper procedures that operators in regulated industries, pharmaceutical and aerospace among them, are legally required to follow and record. Every action an operator takes is captured in order, so an auditor can reconstruct exactly what happened.

That audit requirement is what drove the architecture: an event-sourced backend where the log of what happened is the source of truth, rather than a mutable row that forgets its own history. Symphony Industrial AI acquired the company in December 2021.

WHAT I DID
Lead Software Architect · company-wide technical direction
  • Led the architecture of a company-wide SaaS overhaul, from a C# CRUD monolith to event-sourced microservices in Rust and .NET Core: throughput from 15 req/s to 80,000 req/s, latency from 1.5s to under 5ms.
  • Consolidated three mobile codebases (Xamarin iOS, Android mobile/tablet and Android wearable/smart-glass) into a single Flutter application running on iOS, Android, smart glasses and Windows, cutting the time to build a new feature to a quarter.
  • Made every system action traceable through event sourcing, which is what let regulated customers use the platform at all.
  • Set technical direction with the CEO and CTO across every team, and guided 10–20 engineers across frontend, backend and DevOps, two of whom were promoted into leadership.
